Step 1: Consultation
The first step toward your new website is a one-on-one initial consultation with a member of the Digby Web Developers team. We will learn the needs of your business and the ultimate goals of your online experience. Based on the kind of results you want to see and the depth of your budget, we will recommend a Web Solutions package and site structure that suits your needs.
Step 2: Development
Once a Web Solutions package is selected and approved, you will meet once again with a Digby Web Developer to discuss the details of your website. At this point we will gather all of the information we can about you and your business. We take the time to learn about your industry, understand the personality and tone of your company, and determine how to best attract and serve your intended market. We use your logos, colors, photos and written copy to ensure continuity of your brand message and key claims. If you rebrand and marketing is a bit underdeveloped, we can provide award-winning branding, writing and even photography services to you at additional cost.
Step 3: Design
Our Digby designers will take all of the information gathered about you and your business and create a sample homepage and sample interior page to submit for your approval. These designs will be based upon the needs of your business, the goals of your online experience, and the expectations of your target audience. All of the graphic elements and artwork that will go into your website will be created especially for you by our talented in-house Digby designers. Up to three design iterations are included in your Web Solutions package.
Step 4: Programming
As soon as the design samples are chosen and approved, the actual programming and coding of your website begins. Designs are brought to life by our experienced and specially trained Digby programmers. We first create a Beta version of your website, a kind of "test" site that illustrates how your site will look and function without yet being accessible to the general public. Once the Beta site is approved and a relevant domain name successfully attached, your new website goes live, ready to give your business the powerful internet presence it deserves.
Step 5: Performance Evaluation
Included in every Web Solutions Package is a 30-Day Performance Evaluation of your new website. Once your website has been live for 30 days, it has had time to be indexed and registered by Google. We will run site metrics and make sure that your site is still running smoothly and continuing to achieve your goals. We analyze keyword density, rate the navigation, review the design and appeal, check your loading time, analyze your HTML code for errors, check Meta tags and ensure that the most effective Search Engine Optimization is being utilized on every page.
As always, your ideas, suggestions, revisions and comments are welcome throughout every step of the process.
When Can I Have My New Site?
While we like to tell ourselves that we can leap tall buildings in a single bound and create incredible full-functioning websites with a click of our heels, reality insists that a truly well-done website takes some time to produce.
Each step of this process usually takes one to two weeks to successfully complete. The larger and more complex the site, the longer it can take. A simple Budget Class website can take as little as three weeks while a sophisticated Enterprise Class site can take as long as three months or more.
We like to stress that Digby Web Developers value quality over quantity. Our sites are built in-house, from the ground up, and are designed around your individual needs - and those things take time when they're done right.
Please note: While we believe a beautiful, effective and totally unique website takes at least several weeks to successfully complete, we can occasionally accommodate quick-turn deadlines. Schedule your consultation now to see if we can help you... we like a challenge. |
